General administrative process for handling referrals
To date, referrals come primarily from RCMP and Municipal Police in the region.

What forms are required?
Referral form and signed consents are to be completed by the individual referring the case

General info re: time to adjudicate RJ process
The target time frame from referral to case conference is 6-8 weeks- dependent upon participants availability.

Other information provided to referrer
Police who make referrals often attend a case meeting about the referral. Process for Crown/Judiciary has not yet been established.

Case closure reporting
When the terms of the contract are complete and the case is closed, the coordinator sends a letter to all parties indicating case completion status.

Capacity to take on additional referrals

Agency can take up to 20 referrals/year with current resources.

Facilitator Training Requirements
Facilitators have received an RJ facilitator certificate from the International Restorative Justice Institute; mentoring with experienced facilitators
